Former farmland given to the Woodland Trust by Rochford Council and planted up as part of the Trust's 'Woods on your Doorstep' millennium project. The trees include oak, ash, hornbeam and willow, and shrubs such as hawthorn and guelder rose. The meadow areas are cut for hay.

Visiting

Reached via Little Wheatley Chase, a turning on the right 600m past the roundabout where the A129 Wickford–Rayleigh road meets the A130.

Rayleigh station (Liverpool Street to Southend) is about 10 minutes' walk.

Accessible at all times.
